Mark Owens was raised in the Northern California city of Walnut Creek, graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in English and studied photography at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. After becoming the Arts Editor at Orange Coast Magazine in Newport Beach, CA, he moved to New York for a summer internship with famed Rolling Stone photographer Mark Seliger. He returned to his native California after 4 years in Manhattan and now lives in the San Diego area.
